I was "Christian salad" growing up, because my family moved around a lot and there wasn't always a [insert denomination here] church in the area... so we attended where we could.
Then in my late teens I realized it was all a bunch of unprovable mythology, no more likely to be true than Zeus & company or Odin & company or any of the other myriad gods... and wasn't really worthy of being believed in.

It was proved to me and it's no skin off my back if you never find out.

My philosophy: Believe whatever floats your boat... just don't try forcing it on others.
I don't tell anyone they have to believe what I believe for that very reason.

That claim about forcing it on others gets made a lot. I have yet to see anyone try to force another poster to believe.

I mean IRL. and I don't just mean forced belief (you can't really FORCE belief, anyway... can you?), but forced following of tenets of each religion. For example: If Jews wanted to make it law that NO ONE could work on their "Sabbath"... I would oppose that. That's the kind of "forcing on others" I am referring to.

But who exactly is doing this and what laws are being passed to force you into anything?

But who exactly is doing this and what laws are being passed to force you into anything? I can give you several examples of just such "forced religion" laws. 1> "Blue Laws" that forbid companies from being open on Sundays (yes, there are still some places that do this, out there) 2> God in government. This is NOT a Christian nation so "In God we Trust" should NOT be on our money, nor should "one Nation, under God" be in our pledge. 3> Places that outlaw alcohol sales due to religious belief.

What laws and where are alcohol sales outlawed for religious beliefs?

He just likes to complain. He can do shop and drink 24/7 if he chooses to.

you can't buy a car on a sunday in NJ. kinda, sorta, not exactly a "blue law". more to even the field. if NO car dealer can be open then the ones that are closed for religious reasons on a sunday get a fair shake. if you drive past a dealership any given sunday, there will be people wandering among cars ahead of time.

Would you mind if that was on our money? 3> I wasn't talking about businesses choosing anything. I was talking about laws forcing them to not be able to. Did you miss the "outlaw" in "Places that OUTLAW"? My county had just such a law until 4 years ago. No alcohol sales on Sunday. Not in stores, Not in Restaurants... NOWHERE. And there are still "dry" counties in this state (fun fact: Jack Daniels is actually distilled in a "dry" county in Tennessee)

Just what you want not the other way around. 2> If Allah had been the prominent God of the founding fathers (no not all believed in a Christian God) then you'd have quite a different country but mostly I don't read the money anymore than to choose a 10 or a 5. 3> Move or work to get these stupid old laws removed. There are plenty of new laws that I find anti-religious so it's a two way street.
