The snow has stopped and now it's super windy. UGH! When is Spring? spring... in about 6 weeks... all Phil's fault!  His record isn't that good. Only right 39% of the time. |

Down to our last chicken.
When I opened the henhouse this morning we had another dead chicken.
She's been very weak the last few weeks so it wasn't unexpected.
We'll be buying new babies this spring.
Probably Rhode Island Reds again.

Another clear day in store for today, about 50° forecast.
Let Andy in first thing, and he promptly farted while sitting next to me as I was drinking my coffee.
What the heck does he eat anyway !
Shoved him right back outside.

75% of the snow already gone.
Finished the laundry already, planning on using the grill outside for dinner.
Do chickens get lonely ? We only have one, won't be able to get chicks till early April.

We only have one, won't be able to get chicks till early April. You could always go out and play with it to keep it company!  Actually did for a while this afternoon when it warmed up. We never have more than 4/6 at a time and they are named and tamed as pets. Her name is Yummy and she's 5 years old. Gave her some lettuce and cut bits of apple. Then she stood on the toe of my left boot and preened her feathers. We'll probably take turns going out there for a while each day till we can buy some more babies. Our closest farm supply is supposed to get some in about 6 weeks. |
