Sometimes you have to stay in a hotel. You can't always find what you're looking for where you're going so I'm glad there are options now. I much prefer someone's private pool with the family to sharing with other hotel guests. When I go to Madison Indiana I stay in an older hotel called the “Hillside Inn.”
Rooms are clean
Nothing fancy
But the view from the third floor is amazing
Especially at night when downtown Madison twinkles like a fairy tale

They're not always someone's home either. A LOT of them are investments because you can make good money. Just like hotels do.

If there are NO REVIEWS then don't choose that one. Easy peasy. Never trust reviews by "guests". I have seen way too many FALSE reviews posted by people that were caught trying to break rules/policies... including a few that had been upset at being evicted for doing so. My favorite "bad review" (paraphrased): "Clerk spoke no English, was covered in cat hair, and gave us a nasty room with only a single twin bed for our family of four, then wouldn't give our money back when we complained"... A> I speak pretty darned good English. B> I didn't own a cat at the time. C> Our property only had one kind of room with a "single bed"... and that was a KING, plus I wouldn't try and fit a family of four into a "two occupancy" room as that would be a violation of fire code... something that I'm a stickler on - that particular "guest" was put into a 2-Queen room. D> They were evicted several hours after check-in, for smoking pot in a non-smoking room. You don't get a refund when evicted. |
