You will lose them unless you take a low paying job. Stop lecturing me Don’t you think that I have already RESEARCHED this? You act like a punk kid sometimes Maybe they could negotiate a teacher job for less than base pay.

That is the only way to keep those payments. What? Then management would start screwing over ALL teachers to prove that they can And bus drivers And cafeteria workers And custodians

No, she can't do that depending on her state. In the Public schools most teachers fall under a Collective Bargaining Agreement so she would be placed on whatever step/experience at that wage

Already drawing SS payments Get over yourself You will lose them unless you take a low paying job. ?? you don't have to work at all to collect SS. you just have to be eligible. OH... oops! you mean if you collect SS and work you could lose SS benies! for first few years you are limited to how much you can make. eventually IRS will get caught up and tell ya you owe THEM or there will be NO check that month... scary. the amount you are allowed is not all that much... think it's connected to collecting early. after a few years the amount you can make goes up a lot, but it's not a hige amount. something like $40,000 neighborhood, but DQM!

You act like a punk kid sometimes Maybe they could negotiate a teacher job for less than base pay. not if there's a union!! district i was with hired a staffing agency for substitute teachers and aides. agency handle everything... hiring/firing, payroll, attendance. there were NO benies, NO paid holidays, NO raises. after job hunting for THREE YEARS and with unemployment finally coming to an end... i took it. it was close, i worked with great teachers, special needs HS kids were wonderful. no planning. no grading or report cards. pay was crappy, but my car was paid for so that was like a few hundred more... i know, crazy logic.

Why would I choose to be paid LESS than other teachers? because at 65, that would be the only way you'd get into a public school setting. not you YOU... you in general. like i said, unless you've got MAJOR clout (like your dad is the superintendent) or major DIRT (i'm not advocating blackmail )... just not gonna happen. i'm not being mean or snarky... that's just the way it is!
