i am NOT being snarky here but just have to comment. you mentioned job hunting... maybe a school job. with a touch of sarcasm and total honest i have to say... with a college degree and any experience you have... unless you KNOW somebody in high places  or have serious DIRT on that person... your chances of getting a public school job are slim to none. it's sad to say and no one will admit it but AGEISM is our worst enemy! nobody is gonna say... we don't wanna pay you what you would get on our pay scale... you're only gonna be here a few years and then retire.

so did you work for a school district in any capacity during the 2020-21 school year? were you laid off at the end of this past school year? will you be returning for the 2021-22 school year?

Having a newly hired special education teacher in my family, I know that teachers will be returning to duty at the beginning of August and all hiring has been completed. Each area is different though.
