Mark Cuban runs Trump vs. Harris poll on X, overwhelming number of followers choose Trump
Mark Cuban's followers prefer Donald Trump over Vice President Kamala Harris despite the billionaire preferring Harris for the presidency. This comes as the business mogul has become an outspoken critic of Trump in the 2024 election cycle.
A polling post from Cuban over the weekend read, "Who’s persona and character would you like to see young children grow up to have?" The poll gave the options of Trump or Harris.
Harris got 31.1 percent of the poll and Trump received the overwhelming share of 68.9 percent from the people following Cuban as well as other who participated. Over 800,000 X users participated in the poll. Cuban first supported Trump when he ran for president in 2016 and even entertained the thought of being his vice president, per the New York Post. However, Cuban has since halted his support for Trump.
In 2015 Cuban wrote “I don’t care if he says the wrong thing. He says what’s on his mind. He gives honest answers rather than prepared answers. This is more important than anything any candidate has done in years.”
Many conservative and libertarian commentators wrote back in reaction to the results of the poll, poking fun of Cuban for the lack of support for Harris apparent in his following. Many pointed out that Cuban would not want his daughters using a relationship to gain political power, calling to Harris' relationship with Willie Brown that catapulted her into the political word in California when Brown was 30 years her senior.
In recent years, Cuban has come out in favor of DEI policies in business and has claimed Elon Musk manipulates the X algorithm to promote "right leaning people." In a post on X, he said, "Kamala Harris is not falling in line with Democratic Party Policies. Kamala Harris is defining her own policies, and the Democratic Party is falling in line with her. She literally is redefining the party."
