ABC News has agreed with former President Trump that there will be no audience, muted mics, and no written notes for the Sept. 10 debate between the two candidates.
Trump and Harris will stand on a stage and will only be allowed to have a pen, a pad of paper, and a bottle of water. The rules are essentially the same as in the June debate between Trump and President Biden.
The debate is scheduled for 90 minutes, and the candidates must stand behind podiums and are not permitted to ask questions of each other or interact with campaign staff.
The Harris campaign had previously pushed back on the rules by demanding the use of live mics throughout the broadcast, raising questions about whether Trump would participate.

my thought would be that Harris wants live mics so Trump would be caught live. did she actually DEMAND that? a demand would imply/infer (i can never remember which is which) open mics are deal breakers... obviously not since debate is still on.
since no one knows the topics... seriously! both candidates and their staff know what voters want to hear about... economy, international affairs, medicare/medicaid & social security, immigration... etc. neither candidate should/would prepare to debate whether we should drop DST... though we should just drop it. they're prepping for what topics are most likely to come up.

She had no choice or it would have looked like she was backing out. Those were the agreed on terms.
