Well the Dems seemded to excell at picking idiots for VPs. Seemed an intentional strategy. Obama picked a goon knowing he could control him and that he would never be upstaged. Biden picked a goon. But, now since Biden is one inch away from Shady Pines, the VP does matter.

It's job security for the President to appoint a VP no one wants or likes. I think they learned the hard way after JFK's assassination. Whether LBJ was involved, I'm not sure, but I have my suspicions.
