I did when I was a kid, with my parents. One of those hand crank things. I remember the ice cream was so good. I thought about getting an ice cream maker now but frankly it's easier just to go five minutes to our local ice cream parlor and buy what we want.

My parents did like yours Bec, with the crank and salt. Not a fan of the new ice cream makers. I'll just go to a good ice cream place and buy it.

my grandfather would make homemade peach ice cream in the summer. he'd send some of us grands out to find newly fallen peaches on the ground. once put together, we had to do our time cranking.
I found a Cuisinart ice cream maker at a thrift store for $5. took it in to school and kids made ice cream. they had to measure milk & cream and vanilla. it's kind of a good thing I don't have freezer space for that core/container or i'd be making it all the time. not something I really need, IYKWIM.
there are lots of recipes online for "no-churn" ice cream.

My dad, me and my brother would take turns with the hand crank. It was so good. |

Like having a garden. Be a lot easier going to the store to get vegetables than having a garden and needing to weed and water it all the time. But I think people like the idea of picking their own food from their garden. Just like making their own ice cream. |

Yep first few years we were here I planted tomatoes, peppers, lettuce, and fresh herbs. Then I had to weed and swat mosquitoes. I decided it was much easier to go five minutes down the road to a local farm and buy freshly grown instead. |

With me not working I have a lot of time to weed and water them. Plus I like working outdoors. |
