I actually like your laissez-faire philosophy to moderating the board. On some message boards the moderator plays too much of a role as nanny. We are all adults and should be able to handle tough words or be able to use the tools available to not see unwanted communications. I am not saying that you will not be, but I hope that it is applied fairly. On some message boards, the moderators have favorites. Therefore, they pick winners and losers. My expectation is that if I am attacked that I am allowed to give it like I get it. Thanks for putting up with us so far!

I am not laissez-faire. My point of view is an I am not an adult babysitter. If someone annoys you get over it block them or deal with it yourself. However if you annoy me and that’s another story and I may or may not take action then.

It’s your board. Moderator discretion is necessary. Moderator discretion that keeps the board from violating Proboards rules rather than focusing on making everyone play nice is my preferred message board, but it doesn’t exist.

I was on one board that was so slanted towards the regs it wasn't funny!I lasted one year.They used every dirty trick they could to get rid of any newcomers.The pms were really nasty and I got 4 people on that board banned for stalking me .They posted my address,phone number and what they thought was my house,but wasn't!3 other posters reposted them to bully me .The old guard and mgs club really got ticked off that I didn't respond the way they wanted and one harpie would turn in all of my threads or posts trying to get me banned.The mod said she got so many requests and petitions to ban me that she gave me a restricted list of what to post and not to post!She also cussed me out in pms too!She said she didn't believe I lived where I lived and all! |

I've been waiting years for fuzzems to do this. I figure if she hasn't blocked me after all this time she's very open to letting people deal with their own issues and making them take responsibility for their own posting comfort. I would never block someone's posts. I enjoy arguing too much!
