Quarter to half an inch of ice overnight all over the place. No sunshine at all. I wasn't feeling too well this morning so I called off work today. Didn't really want to have to go scrape the car. lol Temps are just slightly above freezing so it's starting to melt. I'm just going to spend a quiet day at home putzing around.

Another 70+ day. Trying to enjoy it before the cold comes back next Monday.

It's a beautiful day here and I have windows open. I need to stop putzing around and get cleaned up for the day! lol It's been easy to find distractions this morning.

Ahhhhhhhhh the work week is finally over! Woohoo! I get two whole days to myself and a mile-long list of projects to get started / finished. It's a bit overwhelming and trying to decide which to start doing is just not something I want to do. hahahaha Needless to say, I've been procrastinating most of winter.
I stopped for gas on the way home and paid $4.19 / gal. UGH
It was bitter cold all day and windy. One of our local ethnic (not sure if it's Lithuanian or Polish) churches made pierogies and I managed to snag myself a dozen, which will be dinner tonight. Soooo frickin good and supports a good cause. They sold over 240 dozen. I love that these old ladies are teaching the younger generations these things and are keeping it going.
I love that it's light out when I go to work now and light well past 6:00 p.m.

Gas went up $.50 in one week at my usual stop.
$3.09 to $3.59
Only $4+ we've seen was premium and diesel.
We could really use a good downpour to clean the roads, good chance of that tomorrow.

Yeah, gas is jumping here as well. Fortunately I only use about a tank a month, so it's not a deal breaker for us. Thank goodness I don't have my old commute any longer!

Looks like we have to get some new chicks this spring, we're down to one from the last bunch we bought. They get old and die like anything else.
For some reason this last one is very strong and healthy, laying almost an egg a day.
Since it's all alone I try to go out and visit with it as it's very tame.
It's probably bored being in the run by itself, comes running over by me everytime I go in there.
I stand in there for about 10/15 minutes a couple of times a day, stroke it's feathers a bit.
It will mostly just stand on my shoes, or right next to me.
They're social birds.

I'm sippin my cuppa and waiting for the rain to start. They said by 8:00 a.m. and it's now 8:30 a.m. It's pretty cloudy and dark out there. I'm hoping it's over by noon so I can go get some laundry done. Other than that, not a lot going on today.
Heard on the news about the horrible tornado that touched down in Iowa. My prayers for all those affected.
