Was curious to what some of the hotels were charging in 2021. Had my honeymoon with my ex( lol) there in 1982 and a room ran about $80-100 Now it above $300@ night. Guess I won't be going back unless I hit the Powerball That is why I visit beaches during the winter. Less people and there are good deals on the hotels. |

Never stopped in Maryland (drove through it a few times though). Way back, in prehistoric times, when I was a kid, we "summered" in Wildwood, NJ... and they have (well... had... it's been a few decades, so things may have changed) a pretty snazzy boardwalk. we used to do a few weeks in WW every summer. renting a floor of a "shore house". great boardwalk with lots of rides and amusements. we would save our allowance to buy ticket for the rides. i think WW got a rep as a "party" town and we switched to Ocean City NJ. a "dry" town, no known for wild parties. when i was about 12, would head to boardwalk with 10 yo cousin & 9 yo brother... all on our own! child abuse!! board walk food, no matter which shore town... pizza on the boards is just different. Johnson's carmel corn... yes! |

Yup... we did the whole "let's walk the town, the the boardwalk, no parents" thing too when we went there... I was 11 at the time. LOL
We also lived on a floor of a "shore house" (some summers the first floor, some summers the second)... we didn't pay rent though, because my Step-Mother's parents owned the house.

Yes. I prefer Bethany Beach better. More family-like feel. Rehoboth is nice, too. I remember going there and Lewes to see the horseshoe crabs. I have seen them in the Chesapeake Bay, but for some reason as a child there were a lot more in Delaware. A few years ago we took a chartered boat over to a little island to look at the wildlife and there were a ton of horseshoe crabs. We turned them over if they were on their backs to save them. DH used to go to Wildwood, NJ when he was in college I think. Definitely a party town. |

My younger son called them ”ALIENTS”

Fuzzems , add ocean breeze to keep the green heads away! and water temps of at least 70 0! no seaweed, please. NJ has some nice state parks. a nominal fee to drive in... by car load. a limit to how many can be there, so possible to get turned way on weekends. you can take dogs on the beach,,, leashed in specified areas. went one time and they had a BIG sign at the entrance... "Green Heads are HORRIBLE Today!"... "NO refunds." we made a quick u-turn
