dad's philosophy was to try new things. especially when it came to food. you absolutely, positively could NOT refuse to try new food. you couldn't say you didn't like something if you had never tasted it. EX: i wasn't crazy about shrimp as a kid, but if that's what dinner was... well, that's what you ate. i have a sil (almost 70) who carries on like a 6 year old about how she "hates sweet potatoes... beets... yet has never taster either one. Two foods I absolutely love. |

until you actually sampled these 2 food items, you had no grounds to form an opinion. you can say you don't like the way it looks/smells and do not wish to taste it, but until you actually put some in your muth, chew (if needed) and swallow... no useful info to form opinion around. Are you okay? BECAUSE YOU MAKE NO SENSE This is your standard issue response when you don't or won't answer anything truthfully! |

More advice I actually got from both parents at different times: "Don't call me from jail if you actually did it. I won't help you, and you'll actually be safer off there... from me" (my family kinda frowns on being a criminal).
