Tonight I have blt's on the menu. With homemade potato chips and shakes. I even made peanut butter brownies for dessert. Now that is a good meal!I made Bbq cornish hens and parsleyed potatoes and a fruit smoothie.

tartar sauce must be applied copiously or not at all. sparingly is not an option. oh wait... you're not getting any of my perfect crab cakes anyway! I’ll go to Red Lobster 🦞 it's so sad that you think RL could be a substitution for even the crappiest crab cakes.

homemade crabcakes... back fin... jumbo lump. i like them about 95% crab and 5% "cake". i shallow fry in bacon grease... like my grandmother taught me. i like to make little ones... 1-2 bites. homemade cocktail sauce with enough horseradish to make it pink. second choice... homemade tartar sauce. I like frying things in bacon grease.

A crab cake is not a crab cake unless it comes from Maryland. blue claws! canned/refrigerated crab met ain't cheap till you think of what you can make with a pound of the precious. stuff i have was on sale... down from about $20/lb to about $13/lb. i like VERY VERY finely minced onions/celery/peppers... gently sauteed till soft. since I check for shell/cartilage, i know i'm not getting any in my cakes. a little mayo. Old Bay seasoning. mixing to a minimum. portioned into little blobs on parchment on a plate till firm... maybe even a few minutes in freezer. into egg wash, handle as little as possible. form into patty and into well-seasoned crumbs. gently shallow fry in bacon grease till nice and brown. crab with a K... unacceptable. canned crab from tuna aisle... no way. check for crab fests! i'm sure things have changed a bit since covid.

I have a long day today so I put a roast beef in the crock pot with potatoes, carrots, and onions. Left over crusty bread and peanut butter brownies and dinner is done.

Never heard of Rick's Boatyard but Applebee's and Olive Garden heat up much of their food from frozen. Very, very few choices are freshly prepared.
