I actually like this kind of style better without the audience. I think it's great to have an audience at times too but this is a good model as well. However, there should be some people there who can be a witness too so there are no video editing shenanigans. Both sides should be allowed to fully tape them.

Ok CNN did a surprisingly good job. I liked the format. Biden was pathetic. Trump did well but should have answered more questions towards the end and not attack Biden

I like vivek. But i don’t trust him. Why not? I don't know that much about him. I am reserving judgement about him until i really see who he is over time. But, on the face, yes I like him, he's energetic, fun and speaks very well to younger people. I think he would be a very good pick for Trump and I hope he shows himself to be really be about the conservative agenda over time. |

my take... not so much on what was said, but presence & presentation.
seemed like President Biden was probably prepped/coached on obvious topics that would be discussed... economy, inflation, etc. and in brief 2-3 minute chunks. he seemed to be rushing to get thru everything he want to say within allotted time limits. he was often hard to understand... speaking too fast and kind of mumbly. that scary, awful pause at the end of the first question! WOW! I thought the guy was just gonna fall over. he often looked panicked... about to cry almost.
trump was definitely more composed but that smirkly look was/is certainly not professional. there were several times when he did NOT answer the question put to him. he never gave any kind of answer at the end to question about child care costs.
I liked the no audience idea... kept debate from turning into a circus like last time. to me, trump did better overall.
