He was a positive role model by showing that it is possible for a person of color to rise to the highest position in the United States. He showed that one does not have to blame the chains of oppression for lacking success. He showed that it is possible to rise up and be whatever you want to be with hard work and determination. |

Now look at what you just posted. First off, Blacks already know that it is possible to rise up if we work extra hard. So that comment was not necessary and shows that perhaps you believe blacks do not believe in hard work. The fact is that we must work twice as hard as whites to get where we want to go and that includes Obama. Then you make the comment about blaming oppression for lack of sucess. That's pure racist. The fact is that we don't blame squat, the reality is that systemic racism exists and some people don't make it because of that. Having to deal with white racism is both physically and mentally exhausting and those who do not face it always have idiotic things to say like blaming oppression for lack of success. What Obama more accurately showed was the extent of disrespect whites have for blacks regardless of position. |
