Actually... "your" could have been acceptable in that particular usage... 

"I see your following in Biden's footsteps." could be said in 'the third person' as "I see flan's following in Biden's footsteps". "Your" is possessive of "you" reworded it would equate to "I see the following in Biden's footsteps being accomplished by you"
