With so many restaurants that barely survived the covid shutdowns you would think the ones who did survive would amp up their game. However, more and more when eating out, i just wonder why we bother? I can make the same food, better and cheaper at home. Do they not train wait staff anymore? I try to make it easier for them. Last time we were out I ordered a steak and fries. And, when I ordered, I said could you please bring out some A1 and Ketchup with my meal? Seems a pretty simple request right? So, instead of getting that in advance, we sat waiting for our meal. Well, then my meal came out and no A1 or ketchup. So, i ASKED again. And, the waiter/waitress was like OK. Then sat there and waited for at least 15 min before that came. I really want to have those condiments WITH my HOT meal not halfway through and not after the fact.

I mean, I am just tired of it. If eating out isn't something ABOVE what I am doing at home, I don't see the point of wasting the money. And I get that they are short staffed, etc but these things have happened before covid too.
Most recently, DD and i went out for some Italian food. A salad came with the meal. The salad literally was a blob of iceberg lettuce, a cut up cucumber and whole bunch of red onions. No croutons, no cheese, no other veggies at all. Just LAZY. And with so many onions it wasn't pleasant to eat and I love onions. Then when we ordered, I said to the waiter, could you please bring us out some parmesan cheese. They have the dry "shaky" parmesan cheese. And, again the meal came, asked AGAIN. No cheese. Finally I got up and went to another table where some of them open booths had those on the table.

That’s why I like Applebee’s
Once I discover my favorite dish, I’m happy
Oriental chicken salad
But Larry and I do “fancy” restaurants too
Rick’s Boatyard on Eagle Creek is my birthday place

I like them. And you know what you are getting as they seem to have some quality controls

I think the contestants are getting way too much help on Master Chef Legends
The judges walk around while the players are still doing prep and give them advice
One of my favorites went home
I hate the gal from Brooklyn Her accent is so fake

I very rarely eat out. I LOVE to cook and I'm pretty good at it if I do say so myself.

I don't mind. My husband clears up after dinner and loads the dishwasher but I wash any pans and things as I go.
